Quality Assurance! Double Inspection Before Delivery for Custom Suits, Shirts, and Coats

Hello, I’m Fukunobu from the GXBlog editing team.

Our company serves as the order processing hub for a specialized factory that produces a range of items, including suits, shirts, coats, custom coats, and formal wear. In addition to managing delivery schedules, we place a strong emphasis on quality control.

Quality control is paramount to us, and as such, we conduct inspections for all our products. These inspections occur both during the manufacturing process at the factory and before shipment. This means that every item delivered by our company undergoes a dual inspection process.

While we have the privilege of partnering with highly reputable factories, and significant issues are rare, occasional defects can still be overlooked. To ensure that we provide you with the highest quality products possible and to address any potential oversights, we also perform inspections upon receiving the goods at our facility.

Furthermore, any defects that are identified are meticulously documented, and we communicate these findings to our partner factories. We collaborate with them to implement improvements based on the reported issues, aiming to continually enhance the quality of our offerings.

At our core, our goal is to deliver products that not only meet but exceed your expectations. We remain committed to the pursuit of excellence in both our quality control processes and our ongoing efforts to provide you with the best possible merchandise. Your satisfaction is our ultimate priority.

Measurement

Following the order sheet provided by the customer, we will proceed with taking measurements for key areas such as shoulder width, jacket length, sleeve length, and waist circumference. We share a document with the customer outlining the specific measurement points to ensure accuracy. In this instance, we will be focusing on the measurements for the jacket portion.

・Shoulder Width

Measure the distance between the peaks of the left and right shoulder slopes, passing through the base of the collar, following a natural curve.

・Jacket Length

Measure vertically from where the back seam and collar cross meet.

・Sleeve Length

Measure from the peak of the shoulder slope to the center of the cuff.

・Half Waist

Measure vertically from the front edge (front seam) to the center of the back, using the waist cinching position as a reference.

・Lapel Width

Measure from the roll line to the lapel edge at a right angle. Additionally, we will take all specified measurements, including those from point N to the first button position, flap width, and any other dimensions you have provided.

Confirmation of Design

We will review the design aspects such as the number of buttons, lapel style (notch, peak, shawl), pocket shape, and other details according to the order sheet.

Visual Inspection

Especially for cotton materials and linings, we will focus on checking for oil stains, adhesive residues, and any other noticeable issues.

Additionally, depending on the material, there may be a significant amount of lint or loose threads. We will remove these using brushes or other suitable tools. If there are any issues such as wrinkles during the sewing process, we will return the item to the factory for corrections.

We will inspect the garment for any loose thread ends or unfinished stitching, as seen in the above image, and proceed to address and finish them.

Ironing/Pressing

During the transportation from the factory to our company, wrinkles may develop, especially during the rainy season, when fabric tends to be more prone to wrinkles. Therefore, we also perform a re-pressing at our facility.

We are also equipped with press machines from NAOMOTO with blow (air) functions to ensure thorough pressing.

In the image, it may be a bit difficult to discern, but as shown on the left, we carefully check for wrinkles and creases that may have occurred during transportation and use pressing techniques to achieve a clean and polished finish.

Other

In addition, we pay close attention to finer details such as stitch skips, the proper stitching of pocket linings, and ensuring that the lining is not visible from the outside. We meticulously inspect these areas to ensure that the final product meets the high standards required for customer satisfaction.

At our company, any minor defects are documented and sent back to the factory for review. The factory, using this data, consults with their skilled craftsmen on the sewing floor to address and improve these issues.

While inspections are conducted at the factory, both small and large defects can arise on a daily basis. Therefore, by conducting a thorough second inspection at our facility, we are dedicated to delivering even higher-quality products to our customers. We are committed to continuous improvement in our daily operations to achieve this goal!
